ITAC Meeting

August 18th, 2005

2:00 pm in the Dumke Conference Room of the Eccles Broadcast Center

Exchange Design - Caprice Post - Action item

                             

          The design of the Exchange systems will be presented. ITAC will be 

          asked to assess and give the go ahead to proceed.  A change has 

          already been requested that will be addressed tomorrow.  The design 

          document(s) were sent out yesterday.



Building Cellular Coverage - Bryan Morris - Information item

                           

          The leading technology for in building expansion of cellular coverage 

          involves a special coax cable capable of a wide range of frequencies.  

          We'll have a 10-15 minute vendor presentation on this technology, 

          followed by a discussion of the potential impact and utility. 

          (Vendor: SpectraSite Communications, Innerwireless, Inc.)



Wireless Updates - Robert Wineriter - Information item



          Updates on the CleanAccess (insecure.utah.edu) and Public Safety projects



D-Shield - Steve Scott - Information item 



          Statistics update on what traffic (legitimate and not) would be blocked if the 

          D-Shield technology is put in place.  



Firewall Update - Steve Scott - Information item 



          Discussion on proposed access list rules.
