Committee Charter
The Information Technology Architecture Committee (ITAC) operates under the direction of the ITC and provides
technical guidance to the ITC. ITAC consists of highly skilled and knowledgeable IT staff. ITAC focuses on
setting technical standards, defining system, network, and information/data architectures and developing operational
best practices. ITAC forms subcommittees to address specific technical issues or to address specific campus
architectural designs and plans.

- SIP Whitepaper This working paper describes SIP and will be updated as the technology is explored on campus.
- Wireless White Paper Drafted by Hessing, Jordan and Simons, this paper is now proposed as best practice for the University.
- CleanAccess Design Recommendation Hardware, software, and architecture proposed and chosen for the WANA replacement for campus
- Wireless Hardware Recommendations An overview and a technical spreadsheet detailing wireless APs that meet the wireless white paper's criteria for hardware.
- Firewall Proposal for Review This draft proposal requests the goahead on the WAN portion of a phased implementation. A product comparison is also available for review.
- The Campus Network Time Hardware configuration has been approved and an implementation plan is underway. See the NTP network diagram for more info. The original NTP proposal was approved by ITAC in 2003.
- The Campus Network Upgrade Proposal was approved by ITC in February 2004. An associated FAQ may help answer your questions.

- Upcoming issues include preparing the campus for IPv6, including DNS, and planning the next generation campus network.
