OIT Architecture
The OIT Architecture team works with the campus IT community identifying solutions to network and application problems facing the University and its departments. OIT Architecture projects involve:
- defining problems
- investigating technologies, architectures and designs
- mapping solutions
- position statements
- successful implementation and completion of strategic IT projects
Projects assigned to OIT Architecture are those based on demonstrated need with consumer solutions, campus-wide application and buy-in from the University IT and user communities. These include strategic projects from other OIT groups, as well as ITAC and ITC initiatives. Campus organizations and departments are welcome to contact our group for feedback and support at 587-0907.
OIT Architecture Project Process:
- When a project is handed from a group to the OIT Architecture team, the originator continues to have responsibility and oversight of the team by acting as project manager. A written request defining the project plus expectations and deadlines need to be laid out by the project owners. Budget and rack space also need to be provided.
- Project prioritization is done regularly at the OIT Managers level.
