Fiber and Cable Installation

The OIT Fiber and Cable Installation group is responsible for:

• maintaining the OIT Geographical Information System (GIS)/UofU Spatial Design in a timely, accurate and complete manner
• campus building distribution design
• adhering to a plant maintenance schedule for TDUs, ladders, plackards, and drains
• maintaining a full inventory of fiber tagged with usage
• re-claiming conduit and/or duct space in existing duct banks, and building entrance conduits
• minimizing building dead cable
• recycling waste
