OIT Groups - Overview

Office of Information Technology Groups

The groups that make up the Office of Information Technology and report to the Associate VP of Information Technology are charged with maintaining the campus IT infrastructure and ensuring the accessibility of core IT resources.  They are:

Campus Help Desk Your first point of contact for telephone repair, uNID/password questions, email, and network connectivity
Campus Email (UMail) campus-wide, centralized email/calendaring system
Fiber & Cable Installation Fiber optics, data, voice and coax cabling
Network Operations & Services Wired & wireless networking, campus backbone network, campus NOC
Network Support Center (NSC) Contracted onsite computing support for departments
OIT Architecture Campus-wide IT project research, design & support
OIT Systems & Applications Maintenance and support for campus systems and applications including web hosting, email systems, and identity management
Software Licensing Affordable software for campus & home use
Telephone Services Telephone systems design and installation
Wireless Services campus wireless networks and device support
   
Information Security Operations (ISO) Network security: audits, incident reporting, network monitoring
Instructional Media Services (IMS) Classroom media equipment, campus video services, media duplication and digital imaging
Media Solutions Websites, videos, cable TV and multimedia services for campus
U Webmaster Resources for campus webmasters, oversight of the U home page
Center for High Performance Computing (CHPC) Large-scale computer systems, networking, and the expertise to optimize the use of these high-end technologies to further faculty & research needs.
Administrative Computing Services (ACS) Maintains the databases for student records, human resources, and financial data, and administers many applications central to conducting business at the U.

Privacy Office
Oversees how personal information that our consumers, employees, health/benefits plan members, research study participants, patients, or students share with us is handled.
Cyberinfrastructure (CI) Identifying both strategic CI opportunities and specific technical infrastructure requirements to advance the research and academic objectives of the U.
IT Project and Portfolio Office Proven practices, tools, methods, and training to align IT projects, programs and portfolios with university strategies.
