Auto-Check for repeated classes

ACS has designed an automated system to find and mark repeated classes on student records. This system replaces a manual process within the Registrar’s Office that was both time and labor intensive. The system automates the repeated classes in PeopleSoft and adjusts student grades to reflect the most currently-earned grade. The new automated system allows for more accurate DARS reports for students, and streamlines the graduation auditing process, reducing the time required to post degrees.

Password sync for PeopleSoft roles users

As of Wednesday, Feb. 18, CIS passwords for users with PeopleSoft roles will begin to sync with the campus uNID password.

The sync occurs for individuals as soon as they proactively change their passwords through CIS or their passwords expire and are changed. The same password will now work for CIS, UMail, campus wireless and other campus services.

Campus PeopleSoft users who need assistance should contact the Campus Help Desk at (801) 581-4000.

Passwords will not sync for ACS staff who have read (or more) access to PeopleSoft records other than their own. They have been given the ability to change their uNID passwords through CIS.

Start Dialing 10 Digits for Local Calls

Qwest is adding a new 385 area code to the existing 801 area code region. This will require 10-digit dialing (area code + 7-digit telephone number) whenever you place a local call from the 801 area code. Mandatory 10 digit dialing starts on March 1, 2009. Start dialing 10 digits now to be prepared for the change. Beginning March 1, 2009 calls dialed with 7 digits will not go through. If you forget and dial 7 digits you will receive an intercept informing you to dial 10 digits. Dialing on campus with 5 digits will continue as is.

Find out what you and your department need to do to prepare for mandatory 10 digit dialing by visiting the OIT website: http://www.it.utah.edu/services/phones/dialing.html
