For University employees needing a reliable, high performing, cost effective connection to campus using the University’s IP address space, UIT's DSL is the best choice. Our partnership with Century Link allows us to offer DSL ISP services that meet the needs of faculty, staff, and researchers at a reasonable cost, extending the University’s network to your home.
UIT's DSL runs over your existing home phone line and connects directly to the campus network, thus making your home computer an extension of the campus network. As such, UIT DSL connections are governed under the University of Utah Information Resources Policy. If you choose a UIT DSL connection, you must sign a copy of the Remote Internet Service User Agreement and send it to UIT.
Departments can pay for employee UIT DSL accounts on their monthly UIT bill. Customers are billed directly by Century Link for the DSL modem rental or purchase, and UIT bills the customer’s department for the local loop and the ISP service. Some departmental users have DSL at home but use another ISP; in these cases, UIT coordinates the Century Link billing for these customers, but does not charge for the ISP service.
To order DSL service through UIT, fill out a TEO form (online TEO, printable TEO) and the User Agreement form (PDF document) and fax them to UIT at 585-3704. You can read the User Agreement below. A Service Coordinator will call you to help determine your connection options and order your service.

DSL Charges
- The monthly charges will appear on your department's internal University telephone billing. Pricing (from Century Link) is subject to change. For current pricing contact a Service Coordinator at 1-4000 option 2.
