Windows XP and Vista: IntelProSet Wireless Utility
Setting up uconnect with the Intel PROSet/Wireless Utility
For Windows XP and Vista, updated 4/29/08
- Right click on the wireless bars icon in the tool tray (down by the clock).

- Make sure the Enable Radio is checked and that if your laptop has a wireless on/off switch, that it is switched on.
- The utility will show a list of available networks, one of which should be 'uconnect.utah.edu.'
- Click the Profile button towards the bottom of the page.

- The profiles window contains a list of all the preferred networks saved on your computer.
- Click the Add button.

- This will take you through a wireless setup wizard.
- In the General Settings enter 'uconnect.utah.edu' as the Profile Name.
- Enter 'uconnect.utah.edu' as the Wireless Network Name (SSID).

- Click the Next button at the bottom of the window to proceed to the Security Settings.
- In the Security Settings PEAP User, check the security radio to 'Enterprise Security.'
- The Network Authentication should be set to 'WPA – Enterprise'
- Data Encryption: set to 'TKIP'
- Authentication Type: set to 'PEAP'
- Authentication Protocol: set to 'MS-CHAP-V2'
- User Credentials: set to 'Use the following'
- For the User Name enter your uNID
- Domain should be blank
- Enter your uNID password in the Password field and repeat it in the Confirm Password field
- Enter your uNID in the Roaming Identity, as well.

- Click the Next button at the bottom of the window.
- In the Security Settings PEAP Server screen the Network Authentication, Data Encryption and Authentication Type should all be the same as the previous screen.
- Check the box next to Validate Server Certificate.
- Click the down arrow next to field under Certificate Issuer and select the Entrust.net Secure Server Certification Authority.

- Click OK at the bottom of the window.
- You should now see the uconnect.utah.edu profile in your list of preferred networks.
- Click the Close button to return to your list of Available Networks.
- From there you can highlight the uconnect.utah.edu network and click the Connect button to connect to it.
