Pocket PC Instructions - Secure W2

uconnect.utah.edu SSID (network)

  • Connect your PPC to a computer running Windows. You will have to be running ActiveSync to accomplish this.
  • Download the PPC_UofU_Public_CA_Cert and copy it to the PPC.
  • Navigate to the cert through the PPC's File Explorer and tap on it to add it to the certificate root store.

  • Click Yes when prompted.

  • Download and extract SecureW2 PPC 3.1.2.
  • With the PPC still connected to the Windows computer, run the SecureW2_PPC2003_312 file.
  • Click OK on the PPC. Ensure that your wireless adapter is enabled.
  • Go to Start-Settings and click on the Connections tab.

  • Click on Network Cards. Click on uconnect.utah.edu.

  • Click on the 802.1X tab.

  • Check Use IEEE 802.1x network access control and set the EAP type to SecureW2. Click the Properties button.

  • Click Configure.

  • Uncheck the Use alternate outer identity: box. Click on the Certificates tab.

 

  • Click on Add CA. Scroll down to the University of Utah Internal Server CA. Tap it to highlight it, then tap Add.

  • It should now look like the screenshot below.

  • Tap on the User Account tab.
  • Uncheck Prompt user for credentials. Fill your uNID in the Username field, your CIS password beside Password, and "utah.edu" in the Domain field. Tap OK.
  • Tap OK.

If it won't connect, check and make sure your clock is correct.
