System Requirements
Verify that your computer meets these requirements:
- Computer with a Pentium®-class processor or greater
- One of the following
operating systems:
Windows 2000
Windows XP
Windows Vista 32 Bit (no 64 bit) - Microsoft TCP/IP installed.
- 50 MB hard disk space.
- RAM:
64 MB for Windows 2000 (128 MB recommended)
128 MB for Windows XP (256 MB recommended)
1 gig or more recommended for Vista - Cisco recommends a new Vista install. Upgrades to Vista from XP are not supported at this time.
Windows 2000 / XP / ViSTA Installation Instructions
- Extract and use the setup to install the Cisco VPN Windows 5.0.04 client.
- Once the client is installed on your computer you will need to import the uofu.pcf file. Right-click on the file and choose Save as. You can copy this file to your My Documents folder or if you prefer you can copy it into the following directory: C:\Program Files\Cisco Systems\VPN Client\Profiles
- After this is done, you need to import the uofu.pcf file into the client only if you did not copy it into the above windows directory. If you left it on your desktop or copied it into your Documents folder, you will need to import the file.
Start the VPN client and click the import botton at the top.
In the pop up file browser, browse to the directory where you copied the uofu.pcf file, highlight it and click OK. The file should import and the client will be ready to use. - Setup will require a reboot to complete the installation process.
- To run the VPN Client go to: Start -> Programs -> Cisco Systems VPN Client -> VPN Client
- Click on the connect button on the top left corner of the Cisco Systems VPN Client dialogue box.

Download the uofu.pcf file by right-clicking and choosing Save as.
The login name and password
for the VPN client is your University Network ID (uNID) and associated
password. If you don't know your uNID and password,
