How to Configure Eudora 7 for Directory Services

  1. Tools > Address Book
  2. Click the Directory Services tab.
  3. Highlight LDAP under Protocols.
  4. Click New Database.
  5. Type ADAM in for the name.
  6. Type 'adam.umail.utah.edu' in Host Name.
  7. Type '3268' for the Port.

  1. Click on the Search Options tab.
  2. Type 'dc=umail,dc= utah,dc=edu' for the Search Base.
  3. Type '(displayName=*^0*)' for the Word-wise Search Filter.
  4. Click OK.

  1. Type a name or part of a name in Query and click Start to do a search.

How to Configure Eudora 7 - IMAP

  1. Tools > Options
  2. Make sure Getting Started is selected for the Category (should be by default).
  3. Type your name in Real name.
  4. Type your email address in Email address.
  5. Type 'imap.umail.utah.edu' for Mail Server (Incoming).
  6. Type your 'uNID@umail.utah.edu' in User Name.
  7. Type 'smtp.umail.utah.edu' for SMTP server (Outgoing).
  8. Make sure Allow authentication is checked.

  1. Click on the Checking Mail section on the left.
  2. If you want your password saved, put a check in Save password.
  3. Change Secure Sockets when Receiving to Required, Alternate Port.
  1. Click on the Incoming Mail section on the left.
  2. Select IMAP for the Server Configuration.

  1. Click on the Sending Mail section on the left.
  2. Change Secure sockets when Sending to Required, STARTTLS.
  1. Click OK.
  2. Type your password when prompted.

 

How to Configure Eudora 7 - POP3

  1. Tools > Options
  2. Make sure Getting Started is selected for the section (it should be by default).
  3. Type your name in the Real name field.
  4. Type your email address in the Email address field.
  5. Type 'pop.umail.utah.edu' for Mail Server (Incoming).
  6. Type your 'uNID@umail.utah.edu' in the User Name field.
  7. Type 'smtp.umail.utah.edu' for SMTP server (Outgoing).
  8. And make sure Allow authentication is checked.

  1. Click on the Checking Mail section on the left.
  2. If you want your password saved, put a check in Save password.

  2. Select POP for Server Configuration.

  1. Click on the Sending Mail section on the left.
