CONFIGURING EUDORA 7-Windows FOR the UMail System
How to Configure Eudora 7 for Directory Services
- Tools > Address Book
- Click the Directory Services tab.
- Highlight LDAP under Protocols.
- Click New Database.
- Type ADAM in for the name.
- Type 'adam.umail.utah.edu' in Host Name.
- Type '3268' for the Port.

- Click on the Search Options tab.
- Type 'dc=umail,dc= utah,dc=edu' for the Search Base.
- Type '(displayName=*^0*)' for the Word-wise Search Filter.
- Click OK.

- Type a name or part of a name in Query and click Start to do a search.
How to Configure Eudora 7 - IMAP
- Tools > Options
- Make sure Getting Started is selected for the Category (should be by default).
- Type your name in Real name.
- Type your email address in Email address.
- Type 'imap.umail.utah.edu' for Mail Server (Incoming).
- Type your 'uNID@umail.utah.edu' in User Name.
- Type 'smtp.umail.utah.edu' for SMTP server (Outgoing).
- Make sure Allow authentication is checked.
- Click on the Checking Mail section on the left.
- If you want your password saved, put a check in Save password.
- Change Secure Sockets when Receiving to Required, Alternate Port.
- Click on the Incoming Mail section on the left.
- Select IMAP for the Server Configuration.

- Click on the Sending Mail section on the left.
- Change Secure sockets when Sending to Required, STARTTLS.
- Click OK.
- Type your password when prompted.
How to Configure Eudora 7 - POP3
- Tools > Options
- Make sure Getting Started is selected for the section (it should be by default).
- Type your name in the Real name field.
- Type your email address in the Email address field.
- Type 'pop.umail.utah.edu' for Mail Server (Incoming).
- Type your 'uNID@umail.utah.edu' in the User Name field.
- Type 'smtp.umail.utah.edu' for SMTP server (Outgoing).
- And make sure Allow authentication is checked.

- Click on the Checking Mail section on the left.
- If you want your password saved, put a check in Save password.
- Change Secure Sockets when Receiving to Required, Alternate Port.
- Click on the Incoming Mail section on the left.
- Select POP for Server Configuration.

- Click on the Sending Mail section on the left.
- Change Secure sockets when Sending to Required, STARTTLS.
- Click OK.
- Type your password when prompted.
