G1 Phone IMAP set-up with the UMail exchange system
The IMAP protocol will keep your emails on the UMail server and synchronize the information between the server and your G1 phone..
- User name: unid@umail.utah.edu
- Incoming mail server: imap.umail.utah.edu
- Use secure/encrypted connection (SSL) over port 993
- Outgoing mail server: smtp.umail.utah.edu
- Use secure/encrypted connection (TLS/SSL) over port 25
Note: When it asks for an email address, enter a valid email address; if you do not use UMail, input the email address that you do use; this is used for the reply-to.
IMAP will sync your G1 phone with your email, but not necessarily your contacts or calendar. We strongly encourage you to use Windows Mobile 6 devices for email, calendars and contacts that Microsoft supports and recommends.
