Enabling Exchange Server ActiveSync with a Windows-based phone or pda
Note: These instructions are for a phone or PDA running either the Pocket PC 2003, or Windows Mobile 5x or newer operating system. As phone/PDAs vary depending on vendor, these instructions do not include screenshots or specifics for your phone.
To enable synchronization of calendar and contact items from your UMail account with your device:
- Start the ActiveSync program.
- The configuration settings need to be as follows::
Username: your uNID@umail.utah.edu
Password: your uNID password
Domain: "umail.utah.edu" (if required)
Click to select Save Password.
Server name: "www.umail.utah.edu"
- This server uses an SSL connection.
Note: If a Windows mobile device prompts you to accept policies from the server, accept it. We are required to have a policy in place with Exchange 2007, but it does not actually apply any changes to your device.
If you experience difficulty configuring your PDA device with the instructions given, contact your local lan manager for help.
