Department Firewall
A firewall is a device that can filter network traffic. A firewall can be based on IP address or MAC address and will help block infected hosts, brute force attacks, password attacks, DOS attacks, and more. Department firewalls offered through OIT are centralized and free of charge.
ISO/NetOps will consult and assist to setup or make changes to Campus firewalls to protect University information on the network. This service includes ACL into systems where it is required.

IT Managers, you can order a Firewall through orderit.utah.edu. You will need to be registered in the Point of Contact Database to place an order.
