Network Management

Network Management is a basic support service for IT Managers offered through OIT Network Operations. Individual services include:

Network Monitoring
Departments can request OIT Network Operations to do basic monitoring of their network equipment for failure or other anomalous conditions, set up appropriate event notifications, and perform basic network logging.

Routing and Network Changes
Departments can request limited configuration changes for their local area networking hardware.  These include adding new networks, changing current networks, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).

Switch Port Adds, Moves or Changes
Departments can request basic switch port adds, moves, and changes to support desktop computers, printers, and other devices needing network connectivity. LAN administrators will need to coordinate with OIT Network Operations by identifying the ports and provide and install drop cables.
