WebCT Server Outage

ISSUE: WebCT server outage for upgrading

DATE: Sunday, August 13, 2006

START TIME: 7:00 AM

END TIME: 4:00 PM

DETAILS:

WebCT will be down on Sunday, Aug 13, for several upgrades to prepare for fall term. This includes moving to a clustered application server architecture to support higher user load, software updates, and Oracle patches. There will also be a DNS change for the hostname webct.utah.edu.

If you firewall your local networks, please be advised that WebCT uses TCP port 2304 in addition to ports 80 and 443. This higher port is used to support the chat and whiteboard service.
