UEN Outage Update

All,
Let me provide a quick update, I apologize for the delay in getting out
more information, we have been scrambling to get everything rolling, but
here is where we stand...
The only lingering issue for this outage continues to be the state of the
UPS at the Eccles Broadcast Center. We have engineers from the manufacturer
of the UPS reviewing the issues and attempting to certify the unit for
normal operation. Some parts for the UPS are on order and scheduled for
delivery by tomorrow afternoon. They will be installed upon arrival.
UEN has made the decision to remain on Motor-Generator power until the UPS
can be properly certified and replacement parts installed. Once this occurs
we will announce a maintenance window during which we will move back to
Commercial power. Details regarding the scope of the maintenance are being
discussed and will be announced later.
Whereas EBC is on motor-generator power, we are reasonably confident that we
will not sustain a failure of power. We do continue to rate our service out
of EBC as degraded (susceptible to failure).
As I mentioned before, we have every available resource working to restore
stable service. As more updates come in, we will be sure to pass them along
quickly and verbosely.
We have received MANY emails of support from all over the state. I cant
take time to respond to them all, but we appreciate your support. PLEASE let
me know if you run into problems or issues you believe may be related to
this outage.
