UEN Network Outage
OUTAGE: UEN Network Outage
START TIME: 11:20 pm
END TIME: 4:30 am
DETAILS: During a UEN scheduled maintenance they experienced a failure on the network which caused a cascade event which locked up and rebooted backbone routers serving a large portion of the UEN backbone. Research into the issue leads them to suspect yet another code bug in the code they have been rolling out to fix the last code bug. Because of the possibility of large network-wide outages, they have decided to downgrade to known reliable code until Cisco can give them a better idea what caused this failure and identify yet another piece of code which will remedy all these issues.
