Department uconnect Radius Services
Departments with firewalled/restricted resources can allow their users to access these without a VPN connection while on the campus uconnect wireless network.
Users can login to uconnect.utah.edu in the format uNID@department.utah.edu. Campus Radius servers are configured with a handler for the department.utah.edu realm. The handler allows the servers to check a file that the department IT manager can edit for the matching uNID. If the uNID exists in the file and the user successfully authenticates, the user is put in a department-specific VLAN and can access the network drive or restricted application.
