Coral IPx

To ensure that all University of Utah departments have access to the latest technology available for the most effective communication methods, the Coral IPx voice solution, implemented locally through Americom Technology, Inc., is now available for campus organizations through the Office of Information Technology.

The Coral IPx provides enhanced features to all University departments. These enhanced features are included in the base service price for each Coral telephone set installed. Optional features are available to meet more sophisticated communication needs.

The Office of Information Technology fully supports and encourages the implementation of the Coral IPx solution. The benefits of the implementation will be realized across campus through more effective communications and economies in telecommunication transport services.

There are a number of line and set options for Coral system customers. They include:

voicemail - unified messaging

Unified Messaging is an optional application (above and beyond the basic voice mail) that will send an e-mail notification to the recipient when a voice mail message is left. The e-mail notification contains an attachment that allows the recipient to listen to it through the their computer's media player.
