The recently completed Vis Wall, a 170-square-foot data visualization wall, is Marriott Library’s newest hands-on learning tool. According to @theU, the Vis Wall comprises 18 4K-resolution monitors that allow users to present multiple, large-scale media sources in a variety of configurations.

New this spring semester, Marriott Library is hosting workshops on emerging technologies every Monday and Thursday from noon to 1:00 p.m. in ProtoSpace. The innovation center, located in rooms 2750 and 2751 on Level 2, showcases digital scholarship and fabrication tools and activities.

During each session, members of the ProtoSpace team will highlight and/or demonstrate a new tool, website, or software application and discuss how it might be incorporated into coursework, curriculum, research, and projects.

Examples of emerging technologies include artificial intelligence-enabled tools, data visualization applications, cutting-edge digital equipment, and productivity software. Attendees are encouraged to suggest and lead explorations at future sessions.
