C1Conversations, a cloud-based contact center platform, will be the university’s new automatic contact distribution system for routing inbound contacts to available agents. The platform is scheduled to go live in May.

The Strategic Information Technology Committee (SITC) met on March 12, and the Teaching and Learning Portfolio (TLP) regrouped on March 19. The Enterprise Web Advisory Council will reconvene on April 11. TLP will regroup on April 16. SITC will meet again on May 14. The next IT Architecture and New Technology Committee meeting is to be determined.

Jake Johansen, director for Enterprise Security in the U’s Information Security Office (ISO), says the initiative is not an effort to filter the websites the university community can access. It's about protecting the U from internet-sourced threats.

All University of Utah faculty, staff, and students and University of Utah Health personnel will be moved to an upgraded version of Microsoft Teams in March. Microsoft will retire the “classic” version of Teams on March 31, 2024.

Before returning to the University of Utah, Nielson held teaching and administration roles centered on technology classes and services for high school students.

The AV & Technology Services Team in UIT Digital Learning Technologies installs and maintains teaching tools in 34 campus buildings. These state-of-the-art technologies enable in-person instruction, hybrid modalities, and remote presenters and participants.
