UKG outage remediation teams praised for response

The U of U and U of U Health arguably faced “a good crisis” in late 2021 when the Ultimate Kronos Group experienced a security breach. Timekeeping and payroll system remediation efforts at the university were immediate, and included the development of interim IT solutions.

Although they could take jobs at well-known private-sector tech companies, UIT student employees often decide to pursue and accept full-time positions in UIT after their internships because the organization offers unique benefits.

U Safety and UIT tighten controls around location data for 911 calls

To help emergency responders find members of the U community in their time of need, and to comply with federal enhanced 911 (E911) regulations, staff, faculty, and health care workers within or outside of the university must provide location information on their softphones.

The Enterprise Web Advisory Council (EWAC) met on August 4 to discuss the University Webmasters Community of Practice, campus accessibility website, and university subpages. The Teaching and Learning Portfolio (TLP) met August 11. No other IT governance committees met in August.
